Mercury Marine Family Fishing Tournament

This free Family Fishing Tournament is held on Oven Island with children lining the banks of the two north channels, often shoulder to shoulder. The catch is weighed on electronic scales with the most weight winning. Contestants may choose to fish both days or only one day of their choice. It’s the beginning of summer, so let’s go fishing!
Trophies awarded each day 15 minutes after close of tournament. All places (first-fifth) win trophies. Results to be determined by dividing the total number of pounds of fish caught by the family by the number of registered participants per family. In case of a tie, the winner with the biggest fish wins. Advance registration is encouraged, but not required.

Meet the Door County Sled Dogs

The Door County Sled Dogs are a recreational sled dog team (all rescues) consisting of seven purebred Siberian Huskies, five Alaskan Huskies, one very special collie/husky mix and two human mushers: Rick Desotelle and Bonnie Ulrich. Find them on Main Street!

You have seen Walleye Weekend from the ground, and now you can see it from the air! Experience an exciting helicopter tour with Fly High Wisconsin. All flights are conducted within a 25 mile radius of Lakeside Park. Fee: $40 is payable at point of departure. Cash and credit cards are accepted. The launch pad is located to the South of Familyland and along the West side of Main Street

Tree Climbing

With the help of trained facilitators, you’ll get up in the trees like never before. Using the same professional equipment that arborists and scientists use when they ascend into the treetops, highly trained and experienced facilitators will teach you everything you need to know to get harnessed up, in the saddle, and headed toward the treetops. Once you’re at a height that’s comfortable for you, you’ll be free to swing, spin, bounce, walk the branches, or just hang out in a tree. It’s your adventure!
Recreational tree climbing is safe, unique, and most importantly, FUN. In its over 30 years as an organized activity, more than 350,000 people have taken part. Now it’s your turn!
$15 for a 20 minute climb benefits the Riveredge Nature Center

Mercury Marine National Boat Demo Experience

Boating enthusiasts are invited to the South end of Oven Island during the Mercury National Walleye Event to take a boat demo ride. Whether your looking to repower your current boat, upgrade or buy a new rig you won’t want to miss this great opportunity to experience the latest boat models and engines available. Participating dealers will be announced.
Demo’s will board/unload from the Oven Island channel docks at the times specified. All participants must be 16 years of age or older. Experienced drivers will conduct the demo rides and Mercury ambassadors will be on hand to assist with questions. All participants must sign a waiver release and life jackets will be provided and must be worn at all times while on the boats.

This year’s proceeds will assist Camp Hometown Heroes, a national free week-long overnight summer camp, located in Fond du Lac County, for children between the ages of seven to seventeen of fallen U.S. service members.

Ecumenical Service

Essential Rock Church, in conjunction with several other Protestant churches, announces an ecumenical outdoor Christian worship service at Walleye Weekend on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at 11:00 am on the Spectrum & Sunny 97.7 East Stage. Bring friends, family, co-workers and your lawn chairs or blanket and enjoy a biblical message, faithful prayer, and wonderful worship. This 1-hour service can be followed by a whole day of event activities.
Several local pastors will preside over the service and share God’s word. Holy Communion will be served and all are welcome to prepare their hearts and partake with their church/pastor of choice.
