Family Fishing Tournament presented by Mercury Marine

This free Family Fishing Tournament is held on Oven Island with children lining the banks of the two north channels, often shoulder to shoulder. The catch is weighed on electronic scales with the most weight winning. Contestants may choose to fish both days or only one day of their choice. It’s the beginning of summer, so let’s go fishing!

Be sure to bring your own fishing pole, equipment and live bait if you’re interested in participating.  Equipment will not be provided.

Trophies will be awarded and announcements made each day 15 minutes after the tournament has concluded on the Mercury National Tournament Stage.

All places (first-third) for each age group (4 and under, 5-8, 9-14, 15-17) for the Individual Competition on Saturday will win Walleye Weekend Medals and (first-fifth) will win Walleye Weekend trophies for the Family Tournament on Sunday. Results to be determined by dividing the total number of pounds of fish caught by the family by the number of registered participants per family. In case of a tie, the winner with the biggest fish wins. Advance registration is encouraged, but not required.  Online registration will end Friday, June 9th at 3pm.
