Breakout Band Contest (Battle of the Bands)

Sunday June 11th 12 pm – 3 pm

 

A total of at least three (3) qualifying bands will earn the opportunity to play a 20 –

30 minute set at Walleye Weekend. Each band will have at least 30 minutes to load-in and conduct a short sound check (Sound production will be provided). Qualifying bands will be featured on 95.1/96.1 The Rock (WTCX).

A winning band will be selected based on a pre-determined set of criteria at Walleye Weekend on Sunday, June 11th and that band will win a $500 cash prize and the Walleye Weekend 2023 “Breakout Band” trophy! The winning band will also have the opportunity to play Fondue Fest (Saturday, September 9th ) and Walleye Weekend 2024 (Dates: June 7 – 9, 2024)!

 

 

Application Process:
All entries must be received by close of business (Mike’s Music), Monday, May 15, 2023. Include the following along with the application

  • Electronic Press Kit (or)
    • 2-3 recorded songs
    • 1 video link (optional)

All entries must be received by Monday, May 15th . Bands will be selected through a vetting process that includes a combination of quality of music, choice of music, and energy. The top bands will play at Walleye Weekend 2023 on the Grande Cheese Center & 96.1. The Rock Stage Sunday June 11th, between 12 and 3pm. You will have a maximum of 30 minutes to play and showcase your talents. Bands will be judged on quality of music, originality, appearance, improvisation, and interface with the audience.

Please disclose any professional representation and connections to talent and/or management agencies, etc.

Qualifications:

  • No age restrictions
  • All band members must be from the State of Wisconsin
  • Must be available to play a 30-minute set at Walleye Weekend in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on Sunday, June 11, 2023, between the times of 12pm and 3pm.
