Mercury Family Fishing Tournament

The Free Family Fishing Tournament is held on Oven Island with children lining the banks of the two north channels, often shoulder to shoulder. The catch is weighed on electronic scales with the most weight winning. Contestants may choose to fish both days or only one day of their choice. It’s the beginning of summer so let’s go fishing!

Be sure to bring your own fishing pole, equipment, and bait if you’re interested in participating.  Equipment will not be provided.  Each fish wins a prize!

Trophies will be awarded Saturday and Sunday, 15 minutes after the close of the tournament. All individual places (first-fifth) will win medals.  For the Family Fishing tournament Results to be determined by dividing the total number of pounds of fish caught by the family by the number of registered participants per family. In case of a tie, the winner with the biggest fish wins. Advance online registration is encouraged.
